Eta Bombs injure 1 in Asturias Print E-mail
Small explosions in two cities on the northern coast have wounded at least one person. Police reported two separate explosions in the coastal cities of Santander and Gijon, which are popular with tourists. The blasts followed an anonymous call to a Basque newspaper warning of bomb attacks.

Police evacuated beaches in eastern Spain Wednesday after receiving a similar bomb threat. No explosives were found.

On Saturday, the Basque separatist group ETA claimed responsibility for two blasts that day in northern Spain. No one was wounded in those attacks.

ETA is known for using small explosions in popular tourist areas to undermine Spain's tourism industry.

The separatist group has killed more than 800 people since 1968 in a campaign for an independent Basque state.
