Bomb Scare on Spanish Flight |

|
An Icelandic aircraft flying from Spain to Ireland was forced to land in southern France yesterday because of a bomb scare.
The Islandsflug B737-400 with 146 passengers on board was evacuated after landing at Lyon's Saint-Exupery airport while all the baggage was searched and passengers questioned. Nothing suspicious was found.
Police said a crew member found a paper bearing the message "bomb September 11" in one of the aircraft toilets and alerted the pilot.
The aircraft finally took off en route to its intended destination of Dublin at around midnight, nine hours after it landed in Lyon. |
