Burglary Gang Caught - 24 robberies in 6 weeks |

 The Guardia Civil yesterday announced the arrest of a group of 24 burglaries between 6th March and 17th May in the Marina Baja area.
The modus operandi of the group was to enter houses during the night when the occupants were asleep. The band said that they took advantage of any carelessness on the part of the home owner such as an open window or a poorly closing window without bars, keys left in a door etc. The band was responsible for robberies in La Nucia, Altea, Alfaz del Pí, Villajoyosa and Finestrat.
The group that were based in Villajoyosa were made up of two couples, one Russian and the other Polish. One of the Poles was a minor and the average age of the others was 27.
A large amount stolen goods were recovered at the time of the arrests and it was by these gods that the Guardia Civil were able to identify the robberies that the group had committed. Guardia Civil say that the case is still open and that there may be further arrests.
The sub-delegation of the Government in Alicante said that they are making a special effort to try to reduce this type of crime.
