Bringing your Pet on Holidays Print E-mail
Owners who are only coming out for a temporary stay should bear in mind the strict importation controls still current in the U.K.

If your intention is to take your pet back with you, please be aware you will have to comply with the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS), for your pet to be able to re-enter the UK without going into quarantine. Make sure to ask your Vet well ahead of your planned holidays.

PETS requires you to vaccinate your pet, insert an identification chip (tattoos are not accepted) and take a blood sample 30 days after vaccination which is then checked in the laboratory. If the results are OK, your Vet will sign your pet´s "passport".

If you have decided to bring Fido with you, once on the Costa Blanca, you can contact Althaia Veterinary Hospital in Altea (966 880 157) where an English speaking Vet will be able to help you.
