Bigger Skyscraper for Benidorm 13 October 2006
It has been revealed that Benidorm’s latest high-rise will be its largest.
The plans for the building, known as Edificio InTempe, reveal a unique structure comprising of two identical towers, joined at the top by an inverted cone. It will have 48 floors giving it more than 50,000 square metres of usable floor space. Inside will be 269 appartments. It will cost more than 90 million euros to build. It will be the tallest building in Benidorm, easily dwarfing the Hotel Bali.
Construction on the site approximately a mile away from Playa Poniente will begin soon with the sinking of extensive foundations. Work is expected to be complete by 2010. Management will no doubt be aware of the delays to the Bali, and should learn from that debacle which saw the hotel taking nearly 15 years to build!
