Crime Report For The Last Seven Days
27 October 2006

PoliceActually not much to report this week. However, two snippets appear to highlight that policing of crime on the Costa Blanca is being taken more and more seriously.

It seems parents are becoming more and more concerned about their children's drug habits. An increasing number are turning to private detectives to spy on their children to find out if they are taking drugs. Many private detectives say this accounts for about 15% of their work.

Police in Alicante are being smartened up. In a move to improve their appearance, braclets, piercings and chains will have to be removed. Officers will also be expected to formally salute their superiors. The move has been welcomed by some unions, and condemned by others.
