Crime Report for the Last Seven Days 10 November 2006
In Alicante, a school teacher was attacked by a 15 year old boy. The teacher went to the classroom where the boy was alone with a girl. When he asked what was going on, the boy attacked him. Perhaps more sickening, the girl recorded the entire incident with her mobile phone camera.
The corruption case against the Mayor of Alicante continues. This week saw the Chief of Public Works defend his report in which he opposed the building of car parks in the city. The mayor and several people around him have been accused of personal financial gains from the awarding of contracts to build car parks in the city.
A Colombian man was arrested near Orihuela for drunken driving. He had been drinking so much that he was found to be 5 times over the legal limit. He was stopped on a road leading from the N332 to Villamartin at a special police checkpoint.
A father knifed his on in Sax causing serious injuries. The two got into a dispute whuch turned nasty when the father pullad a knofe, stabbing his son twice, once in the chest and once in the face. The father, who was subject to a court distancing order has been arrested and is now incustody.
Not necessarily a crime story, but realted. A judge in Denia, who has been refusing to perform same-sex marriages, faces disciplinary action for her actions. The spat is turning nasty with letters being leaked to defend her position, and also to attack Sr Zapatero's government.
A man has been arrested for extortion in Murcia. Plice swooped when his victim was paying over 12,000€ to the man. He had apparently threatened the man in his home with a knife after having worked for the victim for a week or so. He was found with a knofe on his person, and subsequent reports suggest he had been arrested several times before for similar crimes. |
