Fire Kills Two 23 November 2006
Two men have died in a fire in Orihuela.
The victims were elderly brothers who lived together in their home on the San Anton district of Otihuela. The alarm was raised at about 5am on Tuesday morning by the caretaker of a local sports centre. He noticed smoke and flames coming from the house and promptly called the Bomberos.
The response from fire services, although quick, was not enough to save the brothers. They were found dead, having died of smoke inhilation.
The official cause of the fire is not confirmed. However, early indications point to either an electrical short-circuit or a faulty gas heater. |
